Canfield Ohio – (Karen Kastner) Hundreds “flocked” Sunday, April 9, 2017, to the season opening of Mill Creek MetroParks Farm to see and pet the baby farm animals.
The farm, located at Columbiana-Canfield Road, Canfield, across from the main entrance to the Canfield Fairgrounds, opened its doors for the annual “baby shower” to show off the newborns and usher in the warmer weather.
The farm serves as administrative offices for Mill Creek MetroParks. A rental facility, McMahon Hall, and a classroom are also located there, and the farm boasts many outbuildings, an archery range and natural playground.
The farm also has a demonstration rain garden.
The farm parking lot acts as access to the MetroParks Bikeway and the Mindy Henning Memorial Trail.
Farm hours are as follows:
April—9 to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday;
May through October—9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is free and open to the public as are most Mill Creek attractions and events.
