All of our apartment rentals located in Boardman/Youngstown are professionally managed by Steel Valley Homes Property Management Company. We encourage you to apply on our short rental application page before viewing the apartment and all applicants must have a 620+ Fico score with no prior evictions or derogatory remarks on their credit report. Once the rental application is complete Steel Valley Homes will follow up for the following steps to viewing the apartment.
If you’re moving to the Boardman/Youngstown area from another city or state please complete the short rental application. Steel Valley Homes will try and pair you with the best apartment available to when you will be arriving in town. Our luxury apartments tend to rent quickly, so you can secure your apartment through our secure systems before arrival. We look forward to meeting you.
We will do a credit check on all applicants that apply for our apartments. We require a 620+ Fico score and will check for past evictions and any other derogatory remarks on your credit report. We also look at each applicant case by case, so if there is something that you need to explain please notify us upfront.
Pets are allowed under strict guidelines. We do not accept aggressive breeds of dogs such as Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, German Shepherds, and Doberman Pinschers. We also do not allow guests of our tenants to bring these dogs onto our properties under any circumstances. If you’re a pet owner you have to be responsible for your pet at all times.
- Dog must be on a leash at all times.
- Your dog can’t bark at all hours and disturb your other neighbors.
- You must pick up all pet waste and not leave in walkways or the grounds.
- If your pet causes damage to our apartment in any way you will be responsible. (Going to the bathroom on the carpet or chewing the walls.)
We have zero tolerance for pet owners who do not follow the rules, so if you think it will be an issue or has in the past we encourage you not to apply. You will be responsible for all damages caused by your pet. A pet deposit and pet rent may be applied along with pet renters insurance.

Unfortunately at this time we do not accept Section 8 housing or low income vouchers from the Youngstown Metropolitan Housing Authority. A:Yes, we require a security deposit. We do not run special’s such as, no deposit move in today! We do a traditional security deposit that matches the first months rent. For example, if your rent is $700.00 your deposit will be $700.00. If you are a pet owner we may require additional deposits and pet rent.
A:We offer 1-2 year lease terms at all of our rental homes. Currently, we do not do month-month rentals at this time. Below, we have included the rental application and cosigner application to get the process started.
A:Yes, we have always made reasonable arrangements to accommodate tenants that have a disability. We have built ramps, reconstructed bathrooms and showers to make the home disabled friendly. If you’re currently disabled or a caregiver please contact us for further details. Depending on the amount of work we may require a longer commitment on the lease agreement.
